Dr. Enrica Armienti, graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Pisa in 2013, specialized in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Rome La Sapienza. She also obtained a three-year Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine from the Italo Chinese Acupuncture School in Bologna and has been a member of FISA (Italian Federation of Scientific Societies of Acupuncture) since 2016.
She worked as a physiatrist at the Don Gnocchi Rehabilitation Center in Levante Ligure (SP) and collaborated with the Neurorehabilitation Department of the University Hospital of Pisa, where she gained experience in multidisciplinary care for patients with chronic neurological conditions.
From 2016 to 2019, she was co-responsible for the acupuncture service at the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Unit of the S. Andrea Hospital in Rome, dedicated to the treatment of musculoskeletal pathologies. She collaborated on a study on the combined treatment of acupuncture and focal shock waves for painful shoulder pathologies.
Areas of expertise: Functional recovery in disabilities related to musculoskeletal and neurological pathologies. Physical therapies: treatments with focal shock waves for osteo-tendinous pathologies (shoulder pathologies involving the rotator cuff tendons; elbow pathologies such as epicondylitis and epitrochleitis; patellar tendinopathy; Achilles tendinopathy; plantar fasciitis). Infiltrative treatments (intra-articular and peri-tendinous under ultrasound guidance). Pain-relieving treatments with mesotherapy. Pain-relieving and functional acupuncture (most common clinical indications: chronic musculoskeletal pain; chronic headache; dysmenorrhea and menopausal symptoms).
