Graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Pisa in 1985.
Specialized in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Pisa in 1989.

Former First-Level Medical Officer at the Complex Unit of Diagnostic Imaging of the USL Toscana Nord Ovest – Versilia Hospital, where he served as Head of CT Diagnostics and Deputy Director of the same unit. Previously, he was Head of Ultrasound Diagnostics at USL 1 Massa Carrara.

Over more than 35 years of activity in the public healthcare system, he has gained extensive experience in the main fields of diagnostic and interventional radiology, with particular focus on conventional and emergency radiology, neuroradiology, ultrasound including contrast-enhanced imaging, color doppler ultrasound, CT, and Magnetic Resonance Imaging.

His main areas of clinical interest include both diagnostic aspects (body imaging, oncologic, neurological, and musculoskeletal imaging) and interventional procedures (ultrasound- and CT-guided biopsies, drainages, nephrostomies, percutaneous biliary drainage, and joint procedures).

He has participated in numerous courses, congresses, conferences, and seminars both as an attendee and as a lecturer, also contributing to training activities for physicians and radiology technicians.
