Smoker’s health

Book your prevention and early diagnosis path for smoking-related lung and cardiovascular diseases

Are you a smoker? Where are you with the state of your health?

The problems caused by the use of cigarettes and nicotine addiction affect a large part of the population, with an impact not only on the state of health, but also psychological and economic.

There are numerous damages to the body caused by nicotine:

  • Development of tumors of the lung, esophagus, larynx, pharynx, colon, pancreas, kidney and bladder
  • Respiratory disorders: emphysema, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
  • Cardiovascular diseases; arterial hypertension, heart attack, stroke, formation of atherosclerotic plaques mainly in the lower limbs, abdominal aorta aneurysm, male impotence due to lack of blood flow.
  • Exacerbation of gastro-enteric pathologies
  • Pregnancy: smoking increases the risk of fetal mortality and reduces birth weight by approximately 200-250 grams compared to non-smokers; during pregnancy the risk of placental abruption, early rupture of membranes and premature birth increases.
Furthermore, women who smoke have a greater risk of infertility and delayed conception; increased risk of thrombosis if associated with the use of oral contraceptives, early menopause and risk of osteoporosis

Precisely because of the great risk of pathologies associated with smoking, the MiniHospital offers an assessment of the health status of the smoking patient with the aim of:

  1. Determine pulmonary and cardiovascular function
  2. Diagnose the possible development of neoplasms in advance
  3. Provide any indications for further evaluation
