Maria Francesca Egidi graduated in Medicine and Surgery and specialized in Nephrology at the University of Milan.
She worked for about ten years in the Nephrology department of the Maggiore Hospital in Milan, before moving to the United States where she was involved in nephrology, kidney transplantation, and kidney-pancreas transplantation, holding the positions of Medical Director and full Professor of Medicine at American universities.
In addition to a significant scientific output with publications in international journals, she has participated as both a speaker and moderator at numerous national and international congresses. Upon returning to Italy, she served as the Director of the Complex Operative Unit of Nephrology, Transplantation, and Dialysis at the Pisa University Hospital and as coordinator for rare genitourinary diseases in the Tuscany Region.
