Dr. Mario Spinelli graduated in Medicine and Surgery and specialized in Orthopedics and Traumatology and Sports Medicine at the University of Pisa, and in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation at the University of Florence. From 1975 to 1997, he was an Assistant at the Orthopedic Clinic of the University of Pisa. During this period, he was a Fellow Assistant at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and the Institute of Sports Surgery and Prosthetics in Indianapolis, and a Research Assistant at the Institute of Pathological Anatomy in Salzburg and Southern University in Los Angeles. From 1997 to 2012, he directed the Orthopedics and Traumatology department at the Hospital of Livorno and Cecina. In 2001, he was the president of the Italian Society of Knee Surgery. In 2010, he directed the Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology of Tuscany Hospitals. In 2011, he collaborated on drafting the regional protocol for the prevention of pulmonary embolism. Since 2012, he has been practicing as a freelancer.

Dr. Spinelli treats the following pathologies: meniscus injuries, anterior cruciate ligament, rotator cuff, ligaments, cartilage (hyaluronic acid infiltrations, PRP, perforations), lower back pain, cervical pain, scoliosis, osteoporosis, epicondylitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, hand arthritis, trigger finger, flat feet, plantar fasciitis, hallux valgus.
