Valentina Bessi


Dr. Valentina Bessi graduated in Clinical and Health Psychology from the University of Florence and obtained her specialization diploma in Psychotherapy from the CESIPc School of Specialization (Center for Studies in Constructivist Psychotherapy with an Intersubjective Approach) in Florence. Since 2020, she has been the recipient of a scholarship from the Pisa University Hospital (Optimization of a smoking cessation program through psychological support, with a particular focus on patients with smoking-related respiratory diseases – asthma, COPD, lung cancer) at the Pneumology Department of the Pisa University Hospital. Since July 2019, she has been working as a psychologist in private practice.

Areas of intervention: psychological support related to psychopathology, such as anxiety or depression, as well as non-pathological critical situations like separations, life choices, relocations, and grief processing; psychological support in the respiratory rehabilitation process (in collaboration with the pulmonologist and physiotherapist); counseling and support in smoking cessation programs (in collaboration with the pulmonologist); perinatal psychology (prevention and support for couples during the pregnancy and early years of the child’s life); support for parenting (accompaniment intervention for parents to address various difficulties that may arise in their relationship with their children, especially during certain delicate stages of development).
