Gynecological Surgery

Gynecological surgery is the branch of surgery that performs interventions in the female genital area. Ambulatory procedures are small surgical interventions with low complexity or invasiveness, feasible with local anesthesia or sedation, or upon request, general anesthesia, and generally without the need for hospitalization.

Hysteroscopy is a minimally invasive endoscopic technique that, through the use of a camera optics, allows for the diagnosis of pathological conditions of the endometrial cavity. Diagnostic hysteroscopy is useful in cases of abnormal uterine bleeding, both in fertile age and after menopause, and it can reveal uterine malformations such as septa, pathologies of the uterine cavity such as polyps, fibroids, hyperplasia, or in some cases malignant tumors.

Operative hysteroscopy, or therapeutic hysteroscopy, is the hysteroscopy aimed at treating any pathology that undermines the health of the uterus, cervical canal, or endometrium.

Various types of gynecological procedures are performed, such as: correction of genital prolapse, urethrocystopexy, correction of stress urinary incontinence, reconstructive and aesthetic surgeries of the genitals, removal of cysts and abscesses of the Bartholin’s gland, etc.

It is also possible to perform vaporizations and laser conizations for vaginal and uterine pathologies such as condylomas and fibroids, thanks to minimally invasive surgery with fractional CO2 laser.
