Free “Safe Kids” course: June 21, Learn to protect those you love most

Every year, in Italy, hundreds of children are victims of domestic accidents that, in most cases, could be avoided thanks to correct information and simple prevention measures. According to the Istituto Superiore di Sanità, there are over 1,184,000 pediatric visits to the emergency room for accidents, equal to a rate of 195.4 children per 1,000.

Worrying numbers, which Emergency Lab and Salvamento Academy are committed to reducing through dedicated training activities. Among these, the free course “Bimbi Sicuri”, scheduled Saturday 21 June from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, at the Minihospital conference room.

The event, promoted in collaboration with the Municipality of Capannoli and Mayor Arianna Cecchini, is hosted by the Minihospital and is aimed at parents, future parents, grandparents, educators and anyone who takes care of children.

Emergency Lab and Minihospital: together for pediatric safety

When it comes to children, safety is never too much. It is precisely from this awareness that the collaboration between Minihospital and Emergency Lab with the Salvamento Academy teaching program was born, one of the most authoritative Italian institutions in first aid training and prevention of accidents in pediatric age.

Founded with the mission of making the culture of prevention accessible and concrete, Salvamento Academy trains thousands of parents, health workers and teachers every year, through courses based on international guidelines.

Its programs – recognized and constantly updated – are designed to respond in a practical and effective way to the real needs of families.

Why participate in the “Safe Children” course?

The course, completely free, addresses the main risks associated with early childhood and provides practical advice on how to prevent and deal with them promptly and lucidly.

  • Suffocation: Every year, in Italy, approximately 50 children die from choking on a foreign body, often caused by foods (such as hot dogs, hard candies, peanuts) or small objects. The course explains how to prevent these episodes and how to intervene immediately, illustrating life-saving maneuvers.
  • SIDS: SIDS is one of the main causes of death among newborns under one year of age, with an incidence of approximately 1 case in every 1,000 births. The course helps to understand the main risk factors (sleeping position, environment, temperature) and to reduce the probability of occurrence.
  • Minor domestic traumas: Falls from the changing table, bumps into edges, burns from boiling liquids or contact with electrical sockets: these are among the most frequent accidents in young children, who do not yet have full motor control or perception of danger. The course provides the basis for preventing injuries and correctly managing the most common emergencies.
  • Drowning: Even a few centimeters of water can be dangerous. During the course, useful guidelines are provided to recognize risk contexts (bathroom, swimming pool, sea) and to actively supervise children, preventing the most dangerous situations.

How to participate in the “Bimbi Sicuri” course

Participation is free, just book by calling or writing via WhatsApp to the number 351 3651036. The number of places available is limited, other editions may, subject to availability, be repeated later if requested.

Please note that the course is scheduled for Saturday 21 June, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
