Professor Enrico Mini graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Florence and specialized in Oncology at the University of Modena. He worked for about five years in the United States at Yale University School of Medicine (Department of Internal Medicine – Section of Medical Oncology and Department of Pharmacology). At this prestigious institution, he spent an additional period in 2010 as a Visiting Professor. He was a Full Professor of Medical Oncology at the University of Florence and Director of the Translational Oncology Operating Unit at the Careggi University Hospital in Florence. At the University of Florence, he directed the School of Specialization in Medical Oncology and taught in numerous degree courses, specialization schools, masters, and medical doctoral schools. He is currently a Contract Professor at the School of Specialization in Medical Oncology at the University of Florence. He has conducted numerous important clinical studies, particularly for the therapy of gastrointestinal and pulmonary tumors, and is still involved in translational research related to mechanisms of resistance to antitumor drugs and clinical oncological pharmacogenomics and pharmacogenetics. He has received various awards and recognitions for the results of his research and has held prestigious positions in various scientific societies, including the International Society of Chemotherapy (London) and the Italian Society of Pharmacology (Milan). He has given over 250 invited presentations at national and international congresses and seminars at Italian and foreign universities and has presented over 350 communications at such scientific events. He is the author of approximately 270 international scientific publications and over 180 national ones. His total Impact Factor is over 1950, his H index is 52 (Scopus), and he is included in the ranking of the most cited Italian medical researchers internationally (Top Italian Scientists).
Professor Mini’s clinical activity at the Sandro Pertini Minihospital aims to contribute to identifying the best diagnostic and therapeutic pathway for each patient with the goal of preventing, curing, and ensuring the best quality of life. This activity includes: initial oncological visits, oncological consultations (second opinions), follow-up oncological visits, general oncological prevention visits, and visits for individual tumors.
