Internal secretion glands are defined as those that release their secretions (hormones) directly into the circulating fluids of the human body: thyroid, parathyroid, pituitary, pineal, thymus, adrenal glands, endocrine pancreas, interstitial gland of the testicle, interstitial gland of the ovary. Hormones are essential for their role in our body, as they help regulate metabolism, growth, reproduction, and sexual development.
