Proctological surgery is the branch of surgery that deals with the analysis and treatment of disorders and pathologies of the rectum and anus. The main procedures in proctologic surgery are elastic band ligation or hemorrhoidectomy, evacuation of hemorrhoidal thrombosis and perianal hematoma, and interventions for abscesses, neoplasms, and fistulas.
